Overnight Russian attacks across Ukraine Friday night to Saturday morning killed at least six civilians, wounded dozens, and destroyed homes, schools, and power infrastructure from Chernihiv to Zaporizhzhia.
Chernihiv region
Russian drone strikes in Chernihiv targeted repair crews and critical infrastructure, killing two and injuring several others. A “double-tap” attack hit energy company vehicles responding to a fire, while the local fire brigade was also shelled, according to Governor Viacheslav Chaus.
Donetsk region
Donetsk Governor Vadym Filashkin reported that two civilians were killed and four others injured in the Donetsk region. The fatalities occurred in Serhiivka, while the injuries were sustained in other parts of the region. These figures do not include casualties from Mariupol and Volnovakha, where the situation remains dire. Since the onset of the invasion, at least 3,678 people have been killed and 8,305 wounded in Donetsk Oblast according to the state-run news agency, Ukrinform.
Kharkiv region
Kharkiv Governor Oleh Syniehubov reported that Russian forces launched multiple drone and artillery attacks on four settlements in Kharkiv Oblast. As a result, three individuals were injured, including a 58-year-old woman and a 56-year-old man in Simynivka, and a 33-year-old man in Chuhuiv. Additionally, a grenade explosion in Lozova injured two men aged 48 and 40, and a 17-year-old boy. The attacks also targeted civilian infrastructure, damaging a private house in Horokhivatka, a warehouse in Velykyi Burluk, and a business in Chuhuiv.
Zaporizhzhia region
Zaporizhzhia Governor Ivan Fedorov reported that Russian forces conducted 679 strikes on 14 settlements in Zaporizhzhia Oblast. These attacks resulted in the deaths of a 66-year-old woman in Huliaipole and a 7-year-old boy in Zaporizhzhia city. An additional 11 individuals were injured in the regional center. The strikes included 459 drone attacks, 11 airstrikes, and 203 artillery shellings, causing significant damage to residential buildings, vehicles, and social infrastructure.
Odesa region
“Last night, the enemy attacked energy and civilian infrastructure in the Odesa region. Energy equipment, two residential buildings, and a hotel complex were damaged,” Oleh Kiper, head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, wrote on Telegram Saturday morning.
As of Saturday morning, emergency services and repair crews were working to restore electricity, with critical infrastructure supplied by generators.
The Odesa Regional Prosecutor’s Office said Russian forces used strike drones in the attack, damaging several power facilities and leaving 44 settlements without electricity. A 47-year-old woman was hospitalized with injuries. The strike follows a similar attack on Oct. 9 that targeted the region’s energy infrastructure, cutting power to more than 30,000 users.
Kherson region
In Kherson, Russian drones and artillery fire struck the city and 16 surrounding settlements on Friday.
“Four people were wounded due to Russian aggression, including one child,” Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, wrote on Telegram.
The attacks hit residential areas, damaging five private homes. Earlier in the evening, a 59-year-old driver was injured when explosives were dropped from a drone onto an ambulance, according to Ukrinform.
Sumy region
In the Sumy region, Russian drone and missile strikes injured two men and damaged civilian infrastructure.
The Sumy Regional Military Administration reported Saturday morning that a 56-year-old man in the Yunakivka community and a 65-year-old man in the Myropil community were wounded by FPV (First-Person-View) drone attacks.
From the morning of Oct. 10 to the morning of Oct. 11, Russian forces carried out nearly 80 shellings across 34 settlements in 11 territorial communities, with the heaviest attacks in the Sumy and Shostka districts. The strikes included up to 10 KAB missile launches, more than 10 VOG explosive drops from UAVs, and additional FPV drone attacks.
Civilian infrastructure was hit, including private homes and farm buildings in the Sumy community, a residential building and garage in Seredyna-Buda, and a car in Myropil. Over the past 24 hours, authorities, together with the State Emergency Service, National Police, and local organizations, evacuated 39 people from affected areas. The previous day, three civilians were injured in separate attacks on the Sumy region.
