Actor Michael Madsen has died after suffering a cardiac arrest.
He was 67 years old.
He is known, among other things, for his collaborations with Quentin Tarantino.
It is Michael Madsen's manager, Ron Smith, who tells NBC News that the American actor has died.
He reportedly suffered a cardiac arrest on Thursday morning.
Madsen has a career spanning over 40 years, but is best known for appearing in several of the famous director Quentin Tarantino's films, including"The Hateful Eight," "Kill Bill," and "Reservoir Dogs."
He has also had roles in blockbuster films such as "Thelma & Louise" and "Save Willy".
Turned down"Pulp Fiction"
During his career, Michael Madsen has often played villainous roles, rarely leading roles. In Tarantino's film"Reservoir Dogs," Madsen plays the character Mr. Blonde, whose real name is Vic Vega, which is similar to John Travolta's character Vincent Vega in the hit"Pulp Fiction."
The role of Vincent Vega was originally intended for Michael Madsen, according to Far out magazine.
In the 2019 documentary “QT8: The First Eight,” Michael Madsen confirmed that he was the director’s first choice to play Vincent Vega in “Pulp Fiction.” However, Madsen had to turn down the role after already landing the role in Kevin Costner’s “Wyatt Earp” – a decision he later regretted, he said, according to ABC News.
The Tarantino star was married three times and the father of six children, including actor Christian Madsen.
