Morocco, represented by its Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Bourita, will participate in the 4th Ministerial Conference on Feminist Diplomacy, organized in Paris under the auspices of France, on October 22 and 23, 2025. This event is intended to be a space for multilateral mobilization in favor of women's rights and gender equality.
According to the organizers, the meeting will provide a platform for consultation and joint action to defend women's rights, strengthen their participation in public life, and foster new dynamics of cooperation in this area. Nasser Bourita will deliver a speech highlighting Morocco's vision and commitments to promoting equal opportunities and women's empowerment.
Initiated by Germany in 2022, then hosted successively by the Netherlands in 2023 and Mexico in 2024, this conference has established itself today as the main international meeting for political mobilization outside the United Nations system. It aims to consolidate international coalitions and unite diplomats engaged around a common objective: to preserve achievements, accelerate progress and give new impetus to public policies in favor of women's rights.
The meeting will bring together high-level representatives from several states committed to promoting gender equality, as well as international organizations, development banks, research institutions, philanthropic foundations and civil society actors, particularly from feminist movements.
On the eve of the opening of the proceedings, the organizers recalled that the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action of 1995, as well as United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325, still constitute the foundations of a collective commitment aimed at guaranteeing the fundamental rights of women, strengthening their leadership and eliminating all forms of violence against them.
However, despite these normative advances, progress remains insufficient. According to UN Women data, it would take nearly three centuries to achieve real equality between women and men if current trends continue.
It is in this context that the Paris Ministerial Conference aims to reaffirm international commitments and strengthen diplomatic synergies around a universal cause: that of equality, respect for human rights and shared progress.
