US President Donald Trump said that 112.5 thousand Russian soldiers have been killed in Ukraine since the beginning of the year, while the Ukrainian side has lost about 8 thousand during this period.
He wrote about this on his social network Truth Social on Friday, Ukrinform reports.
"I have just been told that nearly 20,000 Russian soldiers have died this month in this senseless war with Ukraine. Russia has lost 112,500 soldiers since the beginning of the year," Trump wrote.
He emphasized that these are many unnecessary casualties.
At the same time, according to the US President, Ukraine has also suffered significant losses.
"Since January 1, 2025, they have lost approximately 8,000 soldiers, and this number does not include those missing in action," he continued.
Trump also drew attention to the fact that Russia continues to shell Kyiv and other cities with missiles and civilians are dying in Ukraine.
"This is a war that should never have happened — it's Biden's war, not Trump's. I'm just here to see if I can stop it," the current US president said.
As Ukrinform reported, Donald Trump shortened his ultimatum to Russia to August 8 demanding that it agree to a peace agreement.
