Israeli Perspective

The purges to respond to the setback of a deep infiltration that paved the way for the first night of raid by the IDF. Now Iran is hunting down the Mossad agents who in recent years have infiltrated into Tehran territory and who in recent days have"activated" helping the Israeli army to attack the main exponents of the institutional and military nomenclature. The two moves of the operatives were decisive, starting with the blinding of the air defenses that paved the way for the jets and the targeted raids on the homes of the top brass of the Islamic regime. A “hole” that then triggered the Iranian reaction which in a few days managed to flush out several agents in several raids.

On Sunday, Iranian police arrested two Israeli intelligence officers in Tehran province , seizing 200 kilos of explosives and equipment for 23 drones. The two were identified and arrested in Fashafuyeh, while the previous day two other people believed to be Mossad agents were arrested in Alborz province, which borders Tehran. During that arrest, too, the spies were preparing bombs, booby traps and electronic devices, according to the semi-official Tasnim news agency.

Not only that. The Pasdaran's revenge also fell on an already detained agent, Esmail Fekri, arrested in 2023 on suspicion of sabotage and of gathering intelligence information on behalf of Israel. Fekri was executed by hanging on charges of"moharebeh" (fighting against God) and "corruption on Earth". The raids and the execution came on the same days in which the head of the Iranian judiciary, Gholamhossein Mohseni Ejei, warned that"if anyone is found guilty of having collaborated with the Zionist regime, he must be tried and punished without delay". According to Ejei, anyone who attempts to exploit the current situation to destabilize the country – whether by physical or psychological means – will face “the most severe penalties provided by law”.
