Prime Minister's Response

The Ruam Palang Phaendin group cheered after Paethongtarn was removed from her position as Prime Minister due to an audio clip. They will hold a large rally at Victory Monument on August 31st starting at noon, reiterating their stance against the Pheu Thai Party's prime ministerial candidate.

At 3:30 PM on August 29th at the Rattanakosin Hotel, the United Front for the Protection of Sovereignty group, led by Mr. Jatuporn Prompan, Dr. Warong Dejvigrom, Mr. Pichit Chaimongkol, and Mr. Kaewsan Atibodhi, held a press conference following the Constitutional Court's ruling on the audio clip between Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, Prime Minister and Minister of Culture, and Samdech Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian Senate.

As soon as the Constitutional Court ruled that the prime minister's term had ended, the waiting crowd applauded, cheered, and chanted,"Ung Ing out! No Chaikasem! No Pheu Thai!"

Then, at 4:00 PM, Mr. Pichit stated that although Ms. Paethongtarn had resigned from her position as Prime Minister, effective immediately and retroactively, the Pheu Thai Party (PTP) still had another prime ministerial candidate and was under the control and command of former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra. Therefore, we remain skeptical about the accusations and verdicts we've heard previously, which are about personal interests rather than national interests. Our skepticism and distrust stem from the conflict of interests that trumps the dignity of the nation under Mr. Thaksin's leadership. Therefore, we distrust the PTP, which has been interfered with by Mr. Thaksin in forming the government, as the conflict of interests still exists.

"Therefore, we would like to invite our fellow citizens to join us in demonstrating our opposition to the issue of conflicts of interest. We also disagree with the Pheu Thai Party leading the formation of a government, as there are conflicts of interest both domestically and internationally. Therefore, we invite our fellow citizens to join us in demonstrating our opposition on August 31st at Victory Monument, starting at 12:00 noon," said Mr. Phichit. Mr. Phichit added that the selection of another prime minister should be conducted according to parliamentary mechanisms, but that we have conditions that must be announced later. Initially, we would like to invite our fellow citizens to join us in demonstrating our opposition to the Pheu Thai Party's conflicts of interest.

Mr. Jatuporn stated that he was aware of the preliminary information from the Constitutional Court, which ruled against the Prime Minister by a 6:3 majority on ethical standards. He stated that he would learn more in a future statement. However, he believes the public has been following this issue with unease over the past few days, filled with rumors and various stories. Even before the ruling, there was a flurry of disturbing news. However, with the Constitutional Court's majority decision, which is both factual and legal, and maintains national peace and order, he expressed his gratitude to the six Constitutional Court judges. Now that Ms. Paethongtarn has left office, he asked why we needed to hold a rally. He expressed his strength to prevent the Pheu Thai Party's third prime ministerial candidate, Mr. Chaikasem Nitisiri, from becoming the next prime minister.

The Ruam Palang Phaendin group believes that appointing Mr. Chaikasem as Prime Minister will lead to a never-ending battle between the Thai and Cambodian borders. This is not a battle without fear, but rather a never-ending battle, as we don't know what further information the other side will reveal. Furthermore, negotiations will not be interrupted, as other powers are ready to be leveraged at any time.

"We don't care who becomes prime minister, but the prime minister must not be under Cambodia's mandate. Many people have asked if we don't want Mr. Chaikasem or the Pheu Thai Party, who will we choose? We can choose anyone who can accept the people's conditions. The first condition is the immediate cancellation of the 2000 and 2001 MOUs. The second is the immediate cancellation of the entertainment complex. The third is the immediate cancellation of the 99-year land sale. The fourth is the secretly hidden land bridge, which must be immediately revoked. The Central Financial Act, which would create a new financial currency, must also be immediately revoked. Therefore, these matters are national matters. Whoever becomes prime minister, if they cannot accept these conditions, will face ouster, regardless of their background," said Mr. Jatuporn.

Mr. Jatuporn continued, stating that the Ruam Palang Phaendin group has reached a point where they want Thai people to prioritize the national interest. The mass rally, scheduled for noon on August 31st, is to demonstrate their stance. If our people don't come out, the coalition parties, which we claim are rowing the boat for thieves to sit in, but later turn out to be thieves rowing the boat for thieves to sit in, may continue rowing and promote Mr. Chaikasem. Therefore, we must not wait for the situation to reach that point. He emphasized that the people's demonstration of power on August 31st will be the most important factor. Otherwise, politicians will only prioritize their own interests. He urged the people to join forces on August 31st starting at noon. Only then can we halt the Pheu Thai Party's attempt to establish a third prime ministerial candidate.

Dr. Warong stated that we must continue the fight, even though we've been fighting all along. The struggle is far from over. This is just a light at the end of the tunnel. Therefore, to demonstrate that one day the people will all win, I have always emphasized that the Shinawatra family and I have nothing in common. However, we cannot tolerate the Thaksin system creating puppet political parties in Thailand. Today, two of them, Mr. Settha and Ms. Paethongtarn, are gone. Will we allow Mr. Chaikasem to come in?

Dr. Warong added that winning the fight against Paethongtarn's audio clip is no small feat. He added that the fight against the Thaksin regime is far from over. The Thaksin regime's biggest threat must be brought to an end by September 9th. We must join hands to ensure the Thaksin regime is wiped out from Thailand, despite the injuries sustained by many soldiers. We still have many more to fight, and he hopes the new government will not be afraid of Cambodia or Prime Minister Hun Sen. If it is afraid again, it will surely be chased away again. If anything happens to Cambodia, the new government must give the green light to the military to take action and allow it to establish a fence.
