This position was expressed in the Joint Declaration adopted by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Living Abroad, Nasser Bourita, and the Dutch Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of Asylum and Migration, David Van Weel, at the end of their meeting on Friday in The Hague.

The Joint Declaration also indicates that the Netherlands welcomes the adoption of UN Security Council Resolution 2797 and expresses its full support for the efforts of the Secretary-General and his Personal Envoy to facilitate and conduct negotiations based on the Moroccan Autonomy Initiative, with the aim of reaching a just, lasting and mutually acceptable solution, as advocated by the relevant Security Council resolutions.
