247 - The trial of Jair Bolsonaro (PL) and seven other defendants accused of participating in the January 8 coup plot began this Tuesday (2), at the Supreme Federal Court (STF), and resumed on Wednesday morning (3). The defendants face five crimes and could be sentenced to up to 43 years in prison if they receive the maximum sentence.

The president of the First Chamber, Minister Cristiano Zanin, ended the proceedings at 5:55 pm on Tuesday, more than an hour earlier than scheduled, due to commitments by Minister Cármen Lúcia at the Superior Electoral Court (TSE). This Wednesday, the lawyers for General Augusto Heleno, Bolsonaro and former ministers Paulo Sérgio Nogueira and Walter Braga Netto have up to one hour each to present their oral arguments. After the defenses, the reading of the votes by the ministers begins.
