Turkish Airlines (THY) Director of Communications Yahya Üstün stated that Airbus has issued an Operator Alert Notice (AOT) concerning all A320 aircraft worldwide, stating,"The eight A320 aircraft in our fleet have been evaluated within this scope and will be safely returned to service after the procedures in accordance with the relevant instructions are completed."

THY Head of Communications Üstün, in his statement on the social media platform of the US-based company X, announced that Airbus has published an AOT concerning all A320 type aircraft in the world.

Üstün stated,"The eight A320 aircraft in our fleet have been evaluated within this scope and will be safely returned to service after completing procedures in accordance with relevant instructions. All our operations continue safely and uninterrupted. During this process, we are closely following the instructions of all relevant aviation authorities, especially EASA, and working in coordination with Airbus to implement the necessary software updates. Passenger safety is always our company's top priority. We hereby inform the public."

AIRBUS A320 STATEMENT FROM AJET

AJet announced that 7 aircraft in its fleet were withdrawn from service due to the publication of an "Operator Warning Notice" by Airbus concerning all A320 type aircraft in the world, and that it will resume operations after the necessary procedures are completed.

AJet Press Counselor Mehmet Yeşilkaya shared on his social media account that this type of aircraft was withdrawn from service due to a notification made by the aircraft manufacturer Airbus.

Yeşilkaya noted the following in his post:

Airbus, the European-based aircraft manufacturer, has issued an Operator Alert Notice for its A320 aircraft. As AJet, which always prioritizes flight safety, seven of our aircraft in our fleet will resume operations after the necessary procedures are completed. During this process, we are closely following the instructions of EASA and the relevant aviation authorities, and we are continuing to work in coordination with Airbus to implement the necessary software updates. This situation does not affect our operational processes. Our flights continue safely.

AIRBUS WARNING ABOUT SOFTWARE UPDATE FOR A320s

European aircraft manufacturer Airbus has issued a written statement regarding the precautionary measure taken against its A320 fleet.

The statement said that analysis of a recent incident involving A320 family aircraft revealed that intense solar radiation can corrupt data critical to the operation of flight controls.

Airbus has therefore identified a significant number of A320 family aircraft currently in service that may be affected by this situation. It was stated that Airbus has issued an Operator Alert Notice (AOT) for all A320 type aircraft worldwide, working with aviation authorities to implement existing software and hardware protections and to ensure the flight safety of the fleet.

The statement noted that the Operator Alert Notice in question would be included in the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) Emergency Airworthiness Directive, adding,"Airbus acknowledges that these proposals will cause operational disruptions for passengers and customers. We apologize for any inconvenience caused and will work closely with operators while keeping safety our number one and foremost priority."

"EASA has issued an Emergency Airworthiness Directive for the Airbus A320 family to address a vulnerability caused by a software update in one of the in-flight computers," the Cologne-based EU flight safety agency EASA said.

The statement noted that the Emergency Airworthiness Directive addresses the issue that arose from an incident on JetBlue Flight 1230 on October 30, 2025, and added,"These measures may cause short-term disruptions to flight schedules and therefore inconvenience for passengers. However, as always in aviation, safety is paramount."
