US President Donald Trump called for Iran's "unconditional surrender" and sent several messages regarding Iran's supreme leader, Ali Khamenei.

In a series of posts on the Truth Social platform, Trump said that the United States knows exactly where Khamenei is.

"We know exactly where the so-called supreme leader is hiding. He is an easy target, but he is safe there - We have no intention of eliminating (killing!) him, at least not for now," the president wrote.

Trump also said he does not want attacks on American civilians or soldiers.

"But we don't want missiles fired at civilians or American soldiers. Our patience is running out. Thank you for your attention to this issue!"

The president had previously claimed that the United States controlled Iranian airspace. After that claim, he posted another message, written in all caps:"UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER!"

The statements were made in a context of tension between Washington and Tehran.
