


All Malaysians aged 18 and above will receive a one-off RM100 (S$30) credit starting Aug. 31, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim announced on Wednesday (Jul. 23).
The cash will be credited through MyKad, or Malaysian identity card, that can be used as an ATM card, among other things, Malay Mail reported.
The one-off credit is part of the Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (Sara) initiative.
It can be used at over 4,100 participating stores nationwide until the end of the year.
Anwar on Wednesday (Jul. 23) also announced an additional public holiday on Sep. 15 in conjunction with the 2025 Malaysia Day celebration.
He also announced that the price of RON95 petrol will be reduced to RM1.99 per litre when fuel subsidies are rationalised., New Straits Times reported.
He said that this is an"extraordinary tribute" to Malaysians.
