Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Yamahi, Speaker of the Arab Parliament, expressed the Arab Parliament's strong condemnation and denunciation of the Israeli Ministerial Council's decision to reoccupy the Gaza Strip, an aggressive step that represents a flagrant violation of international law and international legitimacy resolutions, and reveals the true intentions of continuing the war and prolonging the humanitarian tragedy experienced by more than two million Palestinians in the Strip.

The Arab Parliament stressed that this dangerous decision undermines all efforts made to cease fire and open a serious political process leading to ending the occupation and establishing an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital. It is also an extension of the policy of genocide, starvation and forced displacement practiced by the occupation against the Palestinian people in Gaza and the West Bank.

The Arab Parliament called on the international community, especially the United Nations and the Security Council, to assume its legal and humanitarian responsibilities, immediately pressure the occupation to stop its aggression, reject this illegal decision, work to provide international protection for the Palestinian people, and prevent any attempt to impose a new colonial reality by force. The Arab Parliament renewed its support for the Palestinian people until they obtain their legitimate and inalienable national rights, foremost among which is their right to self-determination and the establishment of their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
