The attack on a 68-year-old resident of Torre Pacheco last Wednesday was the trigger for the wave of violence in the municipality.
After the incident became known, several calls were made to seek justice in the municipality. Pedro Ángel Roca, the town's mayor, blamed outsiders and local immigrant groups for the disturbances.
