According to the Axios report, Witkoff was scheduled to hold a trilateral meeting with Zelensky and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan on November 19 regarding Trump's peace initiative.

However, the meeting was postponed when it became clear that Zelensky was not interested in discussing the peace plan proposed by the US.

Axios, citing sources, writes that V. Zelensky authorized R. Umerov to negotiate with S. Witkoff on the peace plan and many of his comments were included in the text.

A Ukrainian official confirmed that Zelensky had sent Umerov to discuss the plan. However, as the source noted, it was only a verbal conversation and Umerov did not have a written proposal from Witkoff.

The Ukrainian official also denied that Umerov had agreed to the terms of the plan. According to the official, Ukraine does not agree with many of the points set out in the plan.

Instead, the official said, the Ukrainian president arrived in Turkey with a plan developed with European partners that Russia"will never accept."

According to a Ukrainian official, the meeting between Witkoff and Zelensky was canceled because the Ukrainian president wanted to discuss a peace plan with European countries.

Zelensky arrived in Turkey on November 19, where he was met by Turkish officials. He is accompanied in Ankara by Rustem Umerov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council.

During the visit, the Ukrainian President met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The Ukrainian delegation also included the head of the Presidential Office, Andriy Yermak, who noted that he is in constant contact with representatives of the Trump administration, especially Steve Witkoff.

Axios previously reported that the Trump administration is secretly working with Russia on a new 28-point plan to end the war in Ukraine. An unnamed US official said the plan is being developed by Steve Witkoff, who has discussed it in detail with the Russian dictator's envoy, Kirill Dmitriyev.
