WASHINGTON DC, KOMPAS.com - President of the United States Donald Trump warned that the US military would be fully deployed if Iran launched an attack on his country.
Trump made the statement on Sunday (15/6/2025) local time, following the escalation of the conflict or Israel-Iranwar.
Trump also emphasized that the United States was not involved in the attacks launched by Israel on a number of nuclear and military facilities in Iran.
"If we are attacked in any way by Iran, the full force and power of the United States Armed Forces will hit you with a level never seen before," Trump said in a statement via the Truth Social platform.
Israeli attacks kill dozens of people
It is known that the Israel-Iran war is heating up after Israel launched a military operation on Friday morning. The attack targeted several strategic Iranian sites, including nuclear facilities and military bases.
According to the Iranian government, the attack caused dozens of casualties, including a number of military commanders and nuclear scientists.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said his country would continue to strike"any targets belonging to the ayatollahs' regime." In response, Iran has launched a number of deadly missiles into Israeli territory.
US insists it is not involved, but is ready to act
Trump said he knew about Israel's planned attack before the operation began. But he reiterated that the United States had nothing to do with the attack on Iran.
Furthermore, Trump expressed his hope that the conflict between the two countries could end soon.
“We can easily reach an agreement between Iran and Israel, and end this bloody conflict!!!” he wrote, as reported by AFP.
Earlier on Friday, Trump also urged Tehran to quickly reach a peace deal, or face what he called an “even more brutal” attack from Israel.
Tensions between the US and Iran have been ongoing since Trump's first term in office.
In 2018, he pulled the United States out of a landmark nuclear deal negotiated by former President Barack Obama.
The move was accompanied by the re-imposition of economic sanctions on Iran, which worsened relations between the two countries.
