President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited the Zaporizhia region, meeting with the military. He reported this in his Telegram .

"The 65th separate mechanized brigade, which, as part of the 17th corps, defends our state in the Orikhiv direction, was also with the soldiers of the 128th brigade - a separate mountain assault brigade. This is defense in the Stepnohirsk areas. We discussed in great detail today with the commanders what exactly is needed to strengthen our positions, how to give more forces to this direction, an important direction," Zelensky said.

He added that he received full information about the difficulties facing the Defense Forces, particularly in the areas of Hulyaipol and Kamiansky. He added that tomorrow he will hold a meeting to defend Zaporizhia from Russian occupiers.

"We spoke in detail with the head of the administration, Ivan Fedorov, about the situation in the city, in the region, about the support that Zaporizhia needs now - both for people and for enterprises. And protection from strikes, first of all, protection in the region from Russian assaults. I have already defined the tasks for the military, and we will give more resources to this area," Zelenskyy emphasized.

The situation in Zaporizhia region: what is known

Earlier, the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported a halt the Russian offensive on Zaporizhia. According to the spokesman for the Southern Defense Forces, Vladislav Voloshyn, this concerns the area of 5 settlements where the Russian Federation managed to push back the Ukrainian defenders.
