"This meeting is a set-up for a second meeting, but there's a 25% chance it won't be successful," Trump told Fox News Radio.
True, Trump believes that Putin is going to Alaska with the intention of reaching an agreement to end the hostilities in Ukraine.
"I think he will. And we will find out, I will find out very soon," the US president said.
Trump added that if the meeting goes well, he will call European leaders and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to arrange a second meeting, which could take place in"various locations," including Alaska.
"The second meeting will be very, very important because it will lead to an agreement," the president said.
Trump added that"it wouldn't be bad" if he and Putin spoke to reporters after the meeting, but if everything didn't go according to plan, he would not hold a joint press conference but instead address reporters himself before heading to Washington.
