Sanctions agreed upon by Ukraine's allies and friends remain key to bringing Russia to the negotiating table to resolve the war.
This was stated by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on the social network X after the end of the meeting of the Coalition of the Willing in London, in which she participated, Ukrinform reports.
"We had a focused and productive meeting of the Coalition of the Willing. Pressure remains the only language Russia understands, and sanctions, agreed with our allies and friends, are the key to bringing Putin to the negotiating table," von der Leyen stressed.
She added that the Coalition participants discussed urgent energy support for Ukraine in connection with the approaching winter and the need to strengthen Ukraine's air defense.
Europe is expanding cooperation in the defense-industrial sector and is advancing work on a reparations loan, options for which will be presented in the near future, the head of the European Commission said.
As Ukrinform reported, on October 24, a meeting of the Coalition of the Willing was held in London: some participants gathered in person, others joined online.
