Protesters began gathering on Portland Place near BBC headquarters. Afterwards, a crowd of thousands is expected to move to Parliament Square, where they will hold a rally.
Earlier today, the Stop Trump coalition said it was" naive" to think that Trump would help Great Britain as a result of today's visit.
"There is a clear difference between diplomatic relations and hosting an authoritarian leader for the sake of pomp. Trump is clearly in Putin's pocket - and we would not allow Putin to be in Great Britain, let alone invite him on a state visit. It is naive to think that Donald Trump will have any interest in supporting Great Britain in the future, just because Great Britain honours him," the coalition said in a statement.
Protests are also held in front of Windsor castle, and the participants of the protest, in smaller numbers, carry similar banners. Trump is on an official visit to Great Britain, his first in his second term, and he is currently having a formal lunch with the royal family at Windsor Castle.
