Arso issues orange warning for all of Slovenia. Hail alarms remain on

Sunday, July 6

Slovenia was hit by storms today. The Slovenian Environmental Agency (Arso) warns that local showers are possible until Monday morning, and hail is not ruled out. The wind will blow from the south to the southwest. The highest daily temperatures will be from 26 to 32 degrees Celsius.

Arso has also issued a hail alarm. At 18:10, the highest probability of hail was declared for Kočevje, Notranjska and Pomurje. You can see where the highest probability is currently in the image below.

Arso has also declared an orange alert level for the entire country. Stronger storms and local storms are expected between 7 p.m. and midnight, when the storm line is expected to pass. Storms with local showers will continue into the second part of the night, moving from southwest to northeast. Longer dry periods are also possible in some places. A new, more pronounced storm line is expected to pass on Monday between 6 a.m. and 1 p.m., which will be accompanied mainly by showers, they announced.

Strong wind gusts possible from the afternoon

This evening, overnight, and Monday morning, storms with heavy rain will cause individual torrential watercourses and smaller rivers to rise rapidly.

In the evening and at night, Ars advises checking the rainfall radar animation (you can see it below). If you're camping, avoid trees or sleep in a safe place if possible.

Belveder and Sonce parking garages open in Koper

Due to the forecasted storm, free parking is available in the Belveder and Sonce parking garages in Koper today. The parking garages are freely accessible from 3 p.m. until 7 a.m. on Monday, the Municipality of Koper announced.
