The main prize of the 82nd Venice International Film Festival was won by the film"Father Mother Sister Brother" by American director Jim Jarmusch.

The festival jury announced the award of the Golden Lion to the film starring Tom Waits, Adam Driver, Charlotte Rampling, Cate Blanchett, India Moore and Vicky Krieps on the evening of September 6. The film, consisting of three episodes, tells the story of the lives of different generations of families in New York, Paris and Dublin.
The second most important award - the"Silver Lion" - went to the film by Tunisian director Kawther Ben Ghanya "The Voice of Hind Rajab" about the last minutes of the life of a Palestinian girl in the Gaza Strip, who died in January 2024.
The Venice Film Festival jury awarded American Benny Safdie the Best Director award for his film"The Smashing Machine." The Best Screenplay award went to Frenchmen Valerie Donzelli and Gilles Marchand for their film "À pied d'oeuvre."
Meanwhile, the award for best actress went to Chinese actress Xin Zhilei for her role in the film"The Sun Rises On Us All" directed by Cai Shangjun. The best actor went to Italian actor Tony Servillo for his role in the film"La Grazia" directed by Paolo Sorrentino.
As Ukrinform reported, The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine condemned the presence of the Russian flag at the Venice Film Festival.
