Netherlands allocated 200 million euros to strengthen Ukraine's anti-drone capabilities. This was announced by the country's Minister of Defense Ruben Brekelmans, reports Bloomberg.

"We will spend these funds on anti-drone systems capable of shooting down drones in Ukraine, the urgent need for which we saw again last night. There were large-scale air strikes here at night, which had a significant impact, as they were mainly aimed at the local energy infrastructure," he said in an interview with the publication while in Ukraine.

According to Brekelmans, Dutch and Ukrainian companies can together increase the production of such drones by creating joint ventures.

The minister noted that such investments have many advantages, because in this way"the Netherlands naturally learns more about these systems and establishes contacts with developers and manufacturers."

The politician added that such a decision is a necessity, so"the entire NATO alliance needs more" of such anti-drone systems in the next few years.

"This is a way to transfer the experience gained in Ukraine to the Netherlands," Brekelmans assured.

Other agreements with European countries regarding drone production

As UNIAN wrote, Britain to produce interceptor drones to combat Russian"shaheeds". This is the"Octopus" project, which is currently at the negotiation stage and may be implemented in the coming months.

"Very soon we will be producing about 2,000 drones per month and sending them specifically to Ukraine so that they can be used to intercept Russian drones," stressed British Minister for Defence Capability and Industry Luke Pollard.

Also, as Bloomberg writes, Ukraine has a similar agreement with Denmark, which created a joint production enterprise that currently meets the needs of our state, but later it may be reoriented to supply the Danish armed forces.
