Trump's Peace Plan Details and Russian Perspective

Bloomberg reports, based on informed sources, that Europe has a counterproposal ready to President Donald Trump's peace plan for Ukraine.

The document calls for Russia's frozen assets to be used for the reconstruction of Ukraine and compensation for the damages suffered by Kiev.

The European proposal will be presented to the United States during talks in Geneva, where negotiations are taking place between the EU, the US and Ukraine.

Ukraine: European requirements in counter-proposal

The EU counter-proposal calls for Russia's frozen assets to be used for the reconstruction of Ukraine and to compensate for the damages suffered by Kiev following the Russian invasion.

Europe also demands a security guarantee from the Americans that reflects the mutual defense clause in NATO's Article 5.

The EU rejects Moscow's demands for the transfer of unoccupied territory in eastern Ukraine.

Summit in Geneva to discuss the plan

Talks between the EU, the US and Ukraine are taking place in Geneva regarding the American proposal for peace in Ukraine.

The U.S. delegation meets with the Ukrainian delegation at the U.S. Permanent Mission in Geneva. At the table are Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Secretary of the Army Daniel Driscoll, and envoy Steve Witkoff. Across from them is the Ukrainian delegation led by Andriy Yermak.

Among the first to arrive was Rubio, who, according to some US senators, described the proposal as “a Russian wish list.” This was denied by the State Department.

Meloni's position:"Let's work on Trump's proposal"

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said in Johannesburg that the issue is not to work on a complete counterproposal, according to ANSA.

"There are many points on which we can agree, it makes sense to work on the existing proposal," Meloni said, responding to a question about the possibility of a European counter-proposal.

Italy sent its diplomatic advisor to Geneva to participate in the talks.

Trump criticizes Ukraine and the EU

The Ukrainian"leadership" has not expressed gratitude for the US efforts, and the EU continues to buy oil from Russia, Donald Trump wrote on Truth Social.

"The war between Russia and Ukraine is violent and terrible, and with strong and proper leadership by the United States and Ukraine, it would never have happened," Trump said.

The US president claimed that if the 2020 election had not been"rigged", there would have been no war."Putin would never have attacked," he added.

Ukraine: Zelensky hopes for positive outcome

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he hopes for a positive outcome in Geneva. He may travel to the United States to discuss the peace plan.

Andriy Yermak, Zelensky's advisor, is in Switzerland on behalf of Kiev to participate in the negotiations.

Erdogan announces talks with Putin

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met with Giorgia Meloni, with discussions focusing on Ukraine and the Middle East.

Erdogan announced that he will discuss the situation in Ukraine with Vladimir Putin on Monday.

The military situation on the ground

Russian raids continue in Ukraine. A nighttime attack on Kiev by 100 drones was partially repelled, with 69 of them shot down.

Moscow attacked Odessa, firing on energy facilities. Kiev maintains its positions in Pokrovsk.
