Trump's Decision to Deploy Troops

Immigration and Protest Focus

US President Donald Trump, in a statement on the social media platform Truth Social, stated that he decided to deploy the army due to the events in Los Angeles and argued that a great destruction was prevented thanks to this intervention.

"WE WANT THE OPERATIONS TO BE STOPPED"

Protests in Los Angeles, California, USA, in response to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations against irregular immigrants have turned violent. Demonstrators set vehicles on fire in the city center and clashed with law enforcement.

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass announced that more than 100 people were arrested Monday night during protests by"marginalized groups." Bass said the violent protests and vandalism occurred late at night and that the violent protests were led by "marginalized groups" rather than people who support immigrants.

“I know that over 100 people were arrested tonight, many of them for illegally demonstrating. This has nothing to do with the protests. We were fighting for the rights of immigrants, we wanted the operations to stop,” Bass said. “I hope the federal government hears our plea: Stop the operations. This is causing fear and chaos in our city and it’s unnecessary. I hope we are heard.” Police dispersed hundreds of protesters who gathered outside the federal detention center downtown, where immigrants apprehended in ICE operations are being held.

"IF I HAD NOT SENT SOLDIERS THE CITY WOULD HAVE BEEN RESTRICTED"

US President Trump, in a statement on his Truth Social account, underlined his decision to send troops regarding the events in Los Angeles.

"If I had not 'sent the troops' to Los Angeles for the last three nights, this once beautiful and magnificent city would now be in ruins," Trump said in his statement.

Continuing his statement, Trump drew attention to the fires that caused great destruction in the city in January and rendered many homes unusable, and argued that the Los Angeles and California administrations acted"very incompetently" and slowly during that process, and that this increased the destruction.

LOS ANGELAS IS IN MIXTURE!

As demonstrations in support of irregular immigrants detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) continued in Los Angeles, USA, the Trump administration reacted harshly to the events.

During the anti-ICE protests, many demonstrators were detained, there were occasional clashes between security forces and protesters, and many vehicles were burned and rendered unusable by some demonstrators.

US President Trump first announced that he had deployed around 2,000 National Guardsmen to the region in order to control the situation in Los Angeles, and later announced that an additional 2,000 guardsmen and 700 marines had been assigned.
