Prime Minister of Great Britain Keir Starmer is ready to support a peace agreement on Ukraine without a ceasefire as a precondition, as stated by his representative.
"We have always said that we want to see a sustainable and just peace for Ukraine. One that will ensure the return of peace to Europe and allow the Ukrainian people to live without fear of new attacks, and an agreement that will bring this about as quickly as possible," he noted, reports The Guardian.
At the same time, a potential deal must stop the killings and turn the achieved result into a lasting peace supported by security guarantees, which would be a significant positive step, Starmer's representative added.
He also emphasized that if it were possible to achieve a simultaneous cessation of the killings and the achievement of a sustainable peace, it would be even better than simply"seeing an end to the killings."
Regarding Ukraine's borders, he added that they should be determined by Ukraine itself during negotiations, noting that international borders should not be changed by force.
