Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi says Tehran is resolute to stand with all Muslim nations in the face of the Israeli scourge that is terrorizing the region.
Araghchi, who is in the Qatari capital of Doha for the Arab-Islamic summit, made the remark in a post on his X account on Monday.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian is scheduled to participate in the summit, which will be convened to address Israel’s strikes against leaders of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas in Doha on September 9.
Araghchi said he is in Doha to convey the Iranian people’s “clear message” on their support for Muslim nations.
“Iran stands with Qatar and indeed all Muslim brothers and sisters, particularly against the scourge that is terrorizing the region,” the top Iranian diplomat emphasized.

On Tuesday, the Israeli regime launched missiles at a residential area in Doha, targeting Hamas’s leaders, who were meeting to discuss a deal proposed by United States President Donald Trump to end Israel’s two-year genocidal war on Gaza.
Top Hamas leaders survived the attack; however, five members of the Gaza-based resistance group and a Qatari security officer were killed.
Muslim world must take collective action against Israel’s warmongering
Araghchi said the Muslim world should take an “effective and collective” measure to counter Israel’s warmongering against Islamic countries, end the genocidal war in Gaza, and punish the regime’s leaders.
He was speaking in a Sunday meeting with Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, which was held on the sidelines of a preparatory meeting of the Arab-Islamic summit.
The top Iranian diplomat reiterated Tehran’s firm and principled stance on denouncing the Israeli regime’s strikes in Doha.
For his part, Al Thani hailed Iran’s core stance in expressing support for and solidarity with the Qatari people and government.
The Qatari foreign minister emphasized that Muslim and Arab countries are required to intensify their comprehensive efforts to assist the oppressed Palestinian people and to confront the dangerous trend of Israeli hegemony in the region.
Qatar, along with the US and Egypt, has been a mediator in negotiations to end the Israeli war on Gaza, which has killed at least 64,871 Palestinians, mostly women and children, since October 2023.
Iran, Pakistani FMs slam Israel’s attacks on Qatar
Araghchi and Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar strongly condemned the Israeli regime’s aggression against Hamas leaders in Doha and other countries in the region.
They said Israel’s unprovoked attacks on Qatar and other Muslim countries constitute a blatant violation of their sovereignty, international law and the United Nations Charter.
Araghchi and Ishaq Dar, who is also the Pakistani foreign minister, added that the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation play a leading role in reinforcing unity among the Muslim nations at the current sensitive juncture.
They expressed their countries’ unwavering support for the just struggle of the Palestinian people for freedom and self-determination.
Iran, Lebanon FMs urge swift action to halt Israel’s crimes, aggression
The foreign ministers of Iran and Lebanon urged the international community to take swift action to end Israel’s crimes and genocide against the Palestinian people and the regime’s continued attacks on Lebanon and other regional countries.
Araghchi and Youssef Rajji also discussed the latest developments regarding Tehran-Beirut relations.
The Iranian foreign minister also held talks with his Iraqi counterpart, Fuad Mohammed Hussein.
