President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that there are Russians in Pokrovsk, who, however, are being destroyed by Ukrainian troops. As of the morning of October 31, there are no special changes in the city, the encirclement is not recorded, the situation is controlled by the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

The head of state announced this during a briefing, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

The situation in Pokrovsk is difficult. All their forces are there. You know that 170 thousand of the enemy are concentrated in this direction. A lot. This morning I spoke with the commander-in-chief - there are no changes in Pokrovsk. There are Russians in Pokrovsk. Ours are destroying them, destroying them little by little - because we also need to protect the personnel, - he said.

SBU Head Vasyl Malyuk noted that the Russians declared the capture of Pokrovsk a year and three months ago. According to him, during this time they moved 7 km.

"But they lost tens and tens of thousands in deaths. I am silent for the wounded," he said.

For his part, the President emphasized that when analyzing the military situation, it is important to look at what is happening on both sides.

"They (the Russians - ed.) dominate with drones and control logistics with drones. But at the same time, you must understand that we also dominate on the other side with drones and also block their logistics. And if we say that our guys (...) are walking 5-10 km on foot (when there is saturation of drones, the guys will not be given a lift with equipment), then you must look at the other side and understand where the"Russians" are walking from. You will see that they are walking somewhere in the region of 25-30 km," Zelensky said.

The Head of State stressed that a difficult battle is currently underway for Pokrovsk, which the Russians are trying to take at any cost. According to the President, the Russians have failed to take Sumy, Kupyansk, Dobropillya, and Zaporizhia.

As Ukrinform reported, there were 132 clashes on the front during the day, more than a third of them in the Pokrovsky direction.
