US President Donald Trump said that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky should make a deal to end the war unleashed by Russia, and Europe, he said, should stop buying Russian oil.
He told reporters about this on Tuesday before leaving for the United Kingdom on a state visit, Ukrinform's own correspondent reports.
"Zelensky will have to make a deal. And Europe must stop buying oil from Russia," the White House host emphasized.
He also commented on his vision of the prospects for a settlement: It takes two to tango… You know, these are two people – Zelensky and Putin, who hate each other.
In this context, Trump suggested that he would have to sit in the same room with them because they could not sit together.
Regarding purchases of Russian oil by European countries, the US president emphasized that he is categorically against this.
"I don't want them to buy Russian oil, and they should stop it immediately. It's unfair to us," he stressed.
Trump also stressed that this war should never have happened. He once again stated that he loves Ukraine and the Ukrainian people and wants this war to end.
As Ukrinform reported, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called on the US president to take a clear position on the package of sanctions against Russia and security guarantees for Ukraine in order to stop Putin and end the war.
