As mystery deepens into Raja Raghuvanshi murder case, some chilling details have emerged indicating brutal assault inflicted on the victim.

Raja Raghuvanshi, who was found dead under suspicious circumstances while he was in Meghalaya for his honeymoon trip with his wife Sonam Raghuvanshi, was attacked twice, a preliminary autopsy report has revealed.

According to a report in NDTV, Raja was hit at the back and front of his head.

Raja, who was an Indore-based businessman, died following the deadly attack. The horrific plan was allegedly hatched by his wife Sonam and her paramour Raj Kushwaha along with other aides.

The murder case has sent shock waves across the country. With the fresh revelations, Sonam has now been named the prime accused in her husband’s murder. While her alleged lover is suspected to be the mastermind of the murder plot, according to sources. Apart from Sonam and Raj, three others named in the case –Vicky Thakur, Akash, and Anand — are believed to have executed the brutal killing.

So far, four people, including Sonam and Raj, have been arrested.

Post-wedding celebrations at Raja’s house turned tragic after the couple went missing in Meghalaya’s East Khasi Hills on May 23 during the honeymoon trip. Later, the man’s body was recovered from a gorge on June 2, while the woman was reportedly missing.

Media reports claim the couple was last spotted by a tourist guide Albert Pde in Mawlakhiat along with three men at around 10 am as they headed towards a 3,000-step route to Nongriat, which is a home to the double-decker living roots bridge and a tourist hotspot. Pde reportedly offered to take them to Nongriat, but they refused him and hired another guide on the same day they went missing.

Thereafter, the husband’s body was recovered from a gorge near Weisawdong Falls.

Further, his ornament, including a gold ring and a neck chain, were missing from his body, which raised murder suspicion. The following day, a bloodstained machete was found nearby. Further, two days later, a raincoat that was similar to the one used by the couple was found in Mawkma village, halfway between Sohrarim and the gorge where the man’s body was recovered.

On May 24, the scooter, which they had hired on May 22 and used to travel till Mawlakhiat, was found abandoned at a cafe along the road from Shillong to Sohra, prompting police to begin a search for the missing.

The couple had tied knot on May 11 and left for their honeymoon trip in Meghalaya on May 20.
