Mexico will face South Africa on June 11 in the opening game of the 2026 World Cup at the Azteca Stadium, according to the draw taking place at the Kennedy Center in Washington, where it is the top seed in Group A. This will be a rematch of the opening game of the 2010 World Cup, which was held in South Africa.
They also share a group with South Korea. The third team they will face will be determined in March, as they are currently in the playoff stage. It could be one of the following countries: Ireland, Czech Republic, Macedonia, or Denmark.
