On the ground, spitting blood and dressed in blue overalls, a man was neutralized. Some witnesses point to him as the alleged driver of the car bomb that exploded around 3 p.m. this Thursday, August 21, in front of the Marco Fidel Suárez air base in Cali.
Videos in the possession of the authorities show the exact moment in which a group of people who were there hit him several times on the ground while accusing him of being one of the perpetrators of the attack that has already left 5 dead and 42 injured.
'They are in a police station'

Police sources told EL TIEMPO that both the man, who is about 26 years old, and another man - also wearing overalls - remain detained at a station near the scene of the incident, while their backgrounds are verified and they are placed at the disposal of the authorities.
Judicial sources told EL TIEMPO that information provided by witnesses is already being verified, in addition to security cameras in the area, to establish whether the two men indeed have any connection to the attack, for whose perpetrators and masterminds the Cali mayor's office is offering a reward of 400 million pesos.

President Gustavo Petro has preliminarily singled out the "Carlos Patiño" column for the terrorist attack in Cali.
"Terrorism is the new expression of the factions that claim to be led by 'Iván Mordisco' and that have subordinated themselves to the control of the 'Drug Trafficking Board'", President Petro said.
What is known about one of those captured

EL TIEMPO officially asked the Cali Police for information related to one of those arrested and the response is that they are verifying information that has come through the public, according to which one of the men wearing overalls had photos and information on his social media that may be relevant to what they called urgent acts.
