UK Military Support to Ukraine

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on Monday that offices in Berlin and Copenhagen will be opened by the end of the year to sell surplus Ukrainian weaponry and obtain additional financial resources.

"We are going to open two export offices," Zelensky told the press, as quoted by the Ukrainian news agency Ukrinform, referring to the capitals of Germany and Denmark, two of Kiev's main allies since the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.

The sale of military equipment will be used for"the national production of scarce items," which the country has difficulty financing, explained the Ukrainian head of state.

According to Zelensky, arms exports, overseen by presidential advisor Oleksandr Kamishin, will be based on co-production initiatives for weaponry.

"All of this will be legally disclosed and contracts will be drawn up. Oleksandr Kamishin will be responsible for Europe and will represent Ukrainian exports on the European continent," he added.

According to the Kiel Institute for the World Economy, which monitors announcements of international aid to Kyiv, Germany leads the list of European countries in military support, with approximately 17.7 billion euros.

Denmark emerges as the second country in the European Union, with assistance estimated at 9.2 billion euros, according to the Kiel Institute.
