He stressed in his speech that the province belongs to its people and will not be ruled by those who deviate from its values. He explained that the people of this land will not be easy prey for sedition projects, as he put it.
The Military Council in Sweida explained in a statement: “To our honorable people in Jabal al-Arab... In light of the accelerating events and systematic security chaos that Sweida province is experiencing, it is important for us in the Military Council to emphasize that the people of this land will not be an easy target for sedition projects, and will not be drawn into schemes that target the social and moral fabric of the proud mountain.”
The statement added:"Today, out of our belief in the unity of word and destiny, we declare that the responsibility of defending our people and deterring anyone who attempts to destabilize security and stability falls on all of us, and we extend our hand to all honorable people to unite ranks in the face of chaos, far from narrow interests or subservience to any party."
The Military Council in Sweida called on "all the people of the mountain to unite and be aware, to reject any sectarian or inflammatory rhetoric, to adhere to the historical principles based on dignity and honor, and to work together to deter anyone who dares to undermine security."
He also stressed: "Suwayda belongs to its people, and it will not be ruled by those who deviate from its values."
It is noteworthy that 37 people were killed and dozens were injured in clashes that broke out on Sunday between armed Druze and Bedouins in the Suwayda Governorate in southern Syria, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. During the hours of Monday morning, villages in the western Suwayda countryside also witnessed violent clashes in the villages of Al-Tira, Labeen, Jarin, and others.
