US President Donald Trump"extremely disappointed" with both Russia and Ukraine and no longer wants "meetings for the sake of meetings." About this at the briefing reported White House spokeswoman Caroline Levitt.

"Trump is extremely disappointed with both sides of this war. He is tired of meetings for the sake of meetings. He no longer wants talk, he wants action," she said.

According to Levitt, the next meeting of the Ukrainian and American delegations, tentatively scheduled for December 13 , will only happen if the Americans see a chance for a peace agreement.

"If there is a real possibility of signing a peace agreement, if we believe that these meetings merit the attention of a US representative this weekend, then we will send a representative," a White House spokeswoman said.

Peace talks in Ukraine: latest news

As UNIAN reported, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the Donald Trump administration offers a"compromise" regarding Donbas : the withdrawal of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from the Donetsk region on the condition that the Russian army does not enter there. At the same time, the US cannot answer who will control this so-called"demilitarized zone" and how compliance with the agreements will be ensured.

He emphasized that for Kyiv, any compromise must be fair, and the withdrawal of troops must be mirrored, with mandatory monitoring on the contact line. Ukraine categorically does not accept the Russian demand to give up all of Donbas, so the US is trying to find another format, but the discussion is ongoing and there are no final decisions.
