"This is the day that people all over the region and the world have worked, toiled, hoped and prayed for," said the US president.
"Nobody thought this was possible," Trump added, calling the Gaza ceasefire agreement"historic."
Trump said that "after years of suffering and bloodshed, the war in Gaza is over."
"Humanitarian aid is now arriving in large numbers, including hundreds of truckloads of food, medical equipment and other supplies — much of which has been provided by the people in this room," the US president said.
"Civilians are returning to their homes, hostages are being reunited with their families. A new and beautiful day is dawning, and now rebuilding begins," Trump added, expressing"tremendous gratitude to the Arab and Muslim nations who helped make this incredible achievement possible."
Trump signs truce in Gaza: "This lasted for 3000 years"
US President Donald Trump was the first to sign the peace plan for Gaza. As he signed the document, he said:" This has lasted for 3000 years, can you believe it? And this time it will last."
After him, the plan was signed by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
"This is an incredible day for the world," Trump said, adding that the agreement is so important that it will prevent World War III, which he said could happen in the Middle East.

He told Turkish President Erdogan: "He is my friend and every time I needed him, he was there for me."
He told Egyptian President el-Sisi: "We chose Egypt because you have been very helpful. Everyone wanted this household, but we thought Egypt was the most suitable. You are a great leader, you have very little crime."
He praised Italian Prime Minister Giorgio Meloni saying: "We have Italy. She is a very strong leader. She is doing a great job."

US President Donald Trump said the Gaza peace deal"will lay down the rules and regulations" and is "very comprehensive". Speaking about the return of the bodies of the Israeli hostages from Gaza, he added that"the situation is being clarified" and that "we are working to find the place where these bodies are located".

The President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, said today in Sharm el-Sheikh that the second phase of negotiations on resolving the conflict in the Gaza Strip has already begun and added that the Middle East region is in a phase of progress and that he hopes that Iran will join the process.
" The second phase has begun, as far as we're concerned. The phases are interconnected and partly overlapping," Trump said during a meeting with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, Al Jazeera reported.
Speaking about the broader context of events in the Middle East, Trump expressed his belief that the region"is in a unique moment of progress", stressing that Iran could join the process if it receives certain support.
" I believe Iran will join. They need help, and if they get it, they can be part of this process," Trump said.
He added that without the US attacks on Iran's nuclear facilities,"the agreement on Gaza would not have been possible".
Trump also stated that teams on the ground are searching for the bodies of Israeli hostages in Gaza, stressing that"there is a lot of rubble in the Gaza Strip" and that a comprehensive clearing operation is needed.
"We will see great progress in the Middle East," Trump said.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi thanked Trump for his role in reaching a cease-fire agreement in Gaza.
"This is a remarkable success and we appreciate what President Trump has achieved. He is the only leader who can bring peace to the region," El-Sisi said.
The Egyptian president added that it is necessary to ensure the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza and enable the return of the bodies of the Israeli hostages to their families.
He rode with El Sisi in"The Beast"
On the short ride to the congress hall, the American president was joined by his Egyptian counterpart Abdel Fattah el-Sisi. The two leaders rode in the American presidential car known as"The Beast".

Explosion in Cairo on the eve of the summit
Just before Trump's arrival, Cairo was rocked by an explosion. Allegedly, the detonation was recorded at a military base in the northern part of the city, not far from several government institutions, writes"Israel Hayom".
State media in Egypt stated that the smoke was coming from the construction site and that it was a"controlled explosion". Cairo residents shared photos and videos on social media showing the flames, saying the explosion was powerful.
Israeli hostages released
Israeli hostages were released today from Hamas captivity as part of Trump's 20-point plan to end the war in Gaza, including Serbian citizen Alon Ohel.
