Russia launched more missiles at Ukraine in October than in any other month since at least the beginning of 2023, during nighttime attacks specifically targeting the energy grid, according to an analysis of Ukrainian data by the AFP news agency.

Russian forces launched 270 missiles against the country in October, 46% more than in September, according to a compilation of figures provided daily by the Ukrainian Air Force.

This is the highest number of missiles launched in a month against Ukraine during night bombings since the Ukrainian Air Force began publishing these daily reports in early 2023.

The Russian attacks left tens of thousands of people without electricity.

Moscow is targeting the Ukrainian power grid for the fourth consecutive winter, as part of a strategy aimed at weakening the Ukrainian civilian population, according to Kyiv and its allies.

Ukraine destroyed the circular oil pipeline that encircles the Moscow region

Ukrainian intelligence services claimed responsibility on Saturday for an attack that, according to their reports, disabled the circular oil pipeline surrounding the Moscow region on Friday.

The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense (GUR) shared a video on its social media showing an explosion and claimed that the “three wires” of a major military installation of the aggressor country have been destroyed.

“On October 31, 2025, as a result of a special operation by the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, a very important military installation of the aggressor state of Russia was disabled: the circular oil pipeline that provides resources to the Russian occupying army to wage a genocidal war against the Ukrainian people ,” the GUR noted.

The brief statement said the site of the “successful” attack on the infrastructure was located in the Ramenskoye district, in the Moscow region.

“The anti-drone network and the protection of enemy facilities by paramilitary guards were of no help: the three wires, through which the aggressor transported gasoline, diesel and jet fuel, exploded simultaneously ,” the GUR rejoiced.

With this, the pipeline has been completely disabled, the message concluded, adding that Russian special services and repair teams have been sent to the site of the explosion by Russian authorities.

Ukraine intercepted 206 of the 223 drones launched by Russia last night

Separately, Ukrainian defenses intercepted 206 of the 223 drones launched by Russia on Saturday night, some of which caused damage to various infrastructures.

According to the Air Force's morning report, the Russians launched 223 drones last night, including about 140 Shahed-type drones, as well as Gerbera attack drones and other types, from the Russian regions of Kursk, Milerovo, Bryansk, Orel and Primorsko-Akhtarsk and occupied Crimea.

Of these, air defenses managed to shoot down or intercept 206 unmanned aerial vehicles in the north, south and east of the country.

However, 17 attack drones managed to hit seven different locations, according to the report, which did not provide further details.

The State Emergency Service, for its part, reported via its social media that it extinguished a fire during the night caused by an enemy attack at the facilities of a gas production plant in Poltava (central Italy).
