Welcome to our live coverage of US politics and the events in Gaza.
US President Donald Trump has warned Hamas he would allow Israel to “knock the crap” out of them if the group refused to disarm.
“Israel will return to those (Gaza) streets as soon as I say the word,” he told CNN.
There is also fury in Israel after Hamas said it had handed over as many remains of deceased hostages as it could find. That amounted to just nine out of 28 people.
Some in Israel suggested that was a breach of Mr Trump’s peace plan.
But the US has pushed back and stated it would always take time to find some of the bodies under the rubble.
Mr Trump has said India would stop buying Russian oil – a move that would drain funds from Moscow’s war machine.
But the US president has also confirmed he would meet Vladimir Putin in the coming weeks in Hungary for another summit. Mr Trump would hope he got more than a handshake, which was one of the few outcomes of the Alaska meeting.
Meanwhile, a former national security adviser to Mr Trump is expected to be indicted today.
John Bolton is the latest critic of Mr Trump to face legal action from the White House, which has been accused of targeting the president’s foes.
