According to data reflected in the US media, airline companies canceled more than 1,700 flights planned for November 7 to 9, upon the order of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
The government shutdown has led to a reduction in the number of active air traffic control officers as the primary cause of the flight cancellations, with companies blaming the government and Congress.
According to the FAA's latest statement, airlines have reduced domestic flights from the 40 busiest airports by 4 percent as of yesterday and canceled many flights.
Accordingly, approximately 800 flights scheduled across the United States were canceled yesterday alone.
The FAA announced that if the government shutdown continues, airlines will have to cancel 6 percent of their flights on November 11, 8 percent on November 13, and 10 percent on November 14.
