A debate is expected on EU action to secure security guarantees for Ukraine. MEPs will also assess the outcome of the Alaskan meeting between US President Donald Trump and Russian dictator Vladimir Putin and the Russian bombing of Ukrainian cities following the meeting.

MEPs will also discuss a report prepared by the Foreign Affairs Committee, which urges the Ukrainian government to continue implementing reforms on its path to EU membership. The draft resolution, to be voted on Tuesday, welcomes Ukraine's efforts to strengthen democratic institutions in the context of war.

It has already been reported that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has suggested including Ukraine's accession to the EU in security guarantees.

The coalition, led by Britain and France, includes about 30 countries, most of them NATO members, but also includes Australia and Japan. Some of the countries sent delegations to Paris, while others participated in the summit remotely.

French President Emmanuel Macron announced after the summit that 26 countries had expressed their readiness to participate in guaranteeing Ukraine's security following a ceasefire in the war initiated by Russia.
