The World's Current Take

Former two-time world champion Ricky Hatton was found dead at his home in Manchester. According to police, there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death. He died at the age of 46, BGN reported.

Hatton won the IBF super lightweight world title in 2005 when he defeated future Hall of Famer Kostya Tszyu by knockout in the 11th round.

A year later, he won the WBA lightweight title against Luis Collazo in 2006. Hatton faced the best boxers of his generation, including Kostya Tszyu, Floyd Mayweather, and Manny Pacquiao.

After the loss to Pacquiao, Hatton retired from the sport, returning to face Vyacheslav Senchenko in late 2012. He was leading on points at the time, but was stopped by a punch to the stomach in the ninth round. Hatton announced another retirement after that fight, saying he needed"one more fight" to see if he still had the strength for the ring.
