Israel's Channel 12 reported, citing a senior Israeli official, that US President Donald Trump gave the"green light" to the attack targeting Hamas leaders in the Qatari capital, Doha.

The Israeli military and Shin Bet security service had previously announced that the air force had carried out a precision strike on Hamas leadership sites in Qatar, as part of an operation dubbed"Summit of Fire," which resulted in explosions being heard in the Qatari capital.

There has been no official comment from Washington or Doha regarding these new developments, but Hamas sources confirmed that the leadership delegation, headed by Khalil al-Hayya, escaped unharmed.
