Both the Russian and Ukrainian sides reported drone attacks even during the Trump-Putin summit.
Russia launched 85 drones and one ballistic missile into Ukraine overnight, the Ukrainian Air Force reported. On the other hand, Russian air defenses destroyed 29 Ukrainian drones, according to Moscow.
The airstrikes took place at the time of Trump's summit with Putin.
"The enemy attacked with an Iskander-M ballistic missile and 85 attack drones," the Ukrainian Air Force said, adding that 61 drones were shot down or otherwise neutralized by Ukrainian air defenses.
The Ukrainian Air Force specified that Russian drones and a missile targeted frontline areas in Donetsk, Sumy, Chernihiv and Dnepropetrovsk regions in the north, east and southeast of Ukraine.
The Air Force is also registering strikes at a total of 12 unspecified locations in Ukraine.
The Russian Defense Ministry said that since midnight, Russian air defenses have destroyed 29 Ukrainian drones, including ten over the Rostov region and nine over the Stavropol region.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, four more unmanned aerial vehicles were neutralized late Friday evening. (ČTK)
