President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will propose to the Verkhovna Rada a draft law that will include all the norms for the independence of anti-corruption institutions.

He stated this in a video address, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"I will propose to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine a bill that will be a response that will provide strength to the law enforcement system. And there will be no Russian influence or interference in the activities of law enforcement agencies. And very importantly: all the norms for the independence of anti-corruption institutions will be in place," the head of state emphasized.

He noted that meetings were held with government officials and law enforcement representatives on Wednesday.

"They talked in great detail. SBU, NABU, SAPO, MIA, NACP, SBI, Prosecutor General of Ukraine. It was important to me that everyone gave their arguments, their vision. It is important that they also told each other what had been accumulating for a long time. I really appreciate the agreement on teamwork - on further joint work and on measures that can really give a sense of the inevitability of punishment, and therefore - justice in Ukraine," said the President.

According to him, it was agreed that the heads of the institutions"will together propose an action plan, a plan of specific steps that can strengthen the rule of law in Ukraine."

"Everyone has heard what people are saying these days, what people are saying on social networks, to each other, on the streets. All this is not in vain. We have analyzed all the concerns, all aspects of what should be changed and what should be activated," Zelenskyy emphasized.

He emphasized that"he very much expects from our group of heads of law enforcement and anti-corruption agencies, from the Prosecutor General of Ukraine, specific proposals for norms that should work."

"This will be a presidential bill, and we will implement it within the framework of our strategy for transforming the state," Zelenskyy said.

As reported, on July 22, the Verkhovna Rada adopted a law on reducing the powers of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (draft law No. 12414). President Volodymyr Zelensky signed it on the same day.

On July 23, it became known that people's deputies are initiating the collection of signatures and preparing a submission to the Constitutional Court of Ukraine regarding the new law.
