Kyiv and Washington are discussing the purchase of American liquefied natural gas (LNG), Bloomberg writes, citing sources.
According to the publication, in exchange, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy may offer Donald Trump low-cost storage of the resource in Ukraine. This would allow the United States to increase LNG exports to the rest of Europe. Furthermore, Kyiv may also offer the use of Ukrainian pipelines to American energy companies for exports to Slovakia and Hungary.
Trump statedthat Zelenskyy would ask him for Tomahawk missiles at their meeting on October 17. The American leader noted that Washington has sufficient such weapons. At the same time, the president emphasized that many others in the world would like to receive the missiles.
On October 6, the US president said he had made a decision on the Tomahawk delivery. He noted that before making a final decision, he wanted to know what exactly they would be used for. The American leader emphasized that he was not seeking an escalation in sending long-range missiles to Ukraine.
