The Tarabin tribe in the Gaza Strip commented on the killing of Yasser Abu Shabab on Thursday, stressing that its sons always stand with their Palestinian people and their just cause, and completely reject any attempt to drag the tribe’s name into paths that do not represent its history or morals.

A statement from the tribe, as reported by the Israeli channel i24, said that the killing of Abu Shabab - whom the tribe described as having betrayed his oath and become involved with the occupation - represents for them the end of a dark chapter that they sought to end with a clear and explicit stance.

The tribe affirmed its complete alignment with the Palestinian resistance in all its factions, and its rejection of any groups or militias that serve the occupation's agenda under any guise, according to DPA.

She called on all families and tribes in Gaza to maintain unity and reject anyone who tries to tamper with the social or national fabric, stressing that there is no place in Gaza for treason or collaborators.

Palestinian and Israeli security sources revealed to the Israeli channel new information about the killing of Yasser Abu Shabab, the leader of the central armed group in the southern Gaza Strip, who died from his wounds after a violent fight with groups of members of the armed group he was leading.

The Hebrew channel's website quoted sources as saying that the fight broke out due to internal disputes over leadership, the distribution of powers, and the division of areas of influence within the clan, in addition to accumulated tensions against the backdrop of the cooperation that Abu Shabab was said to have with Israel.

The sources confirmed that Abu Shabab suffered injuries resulting from blunt (external) blows, and not from stabbing or gunfire.

The sources indicated that Abu Shabab was urgently transferred with the help of Israeli security forces to receive treatment outside Gaza, but he died while being transferred to Soroka Hospital in Beersheba as a result of his injuries.
