Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy responded to whether US President Donald Trump approved the transfer of missiles Tomahawk our country. He said this in an interview Fox News .

Is Trump ready to transfer Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine?

When asked whether the American leader approved the transfer of missiles to Ukraine, Zelenskyy replied that work on this issue is still ongoing.

"I am waiting for President Trump's decision. Yes, of course, we are counting on such decisions, but we will see," the President of Ukraine said.

Details of the conversation between Zelensky and Trump

Zelensky also commented on his conversation with Trump, which took place on October 12. He shared that the US president admitted that the situation in Ukraine is more difficult than in the Middle East.

"We don't compare, you know, losses, because it hurts everywhere, anywhere in the world. And I don't want to compare, but we have a big war, and Russia is a big country, a really big country, and they started the first occupation more than 10 years ago," the President of Ukraine added.

In addition, Zelensky said that in a conversation with Trump, he insisted that two things are needed to put real pressure on Russian dictator Vladimir Putin - strengthening Ukraine's air defenses and the availability of long-range weapons.

"It depends on our domestic production and, of course, on the American side, because the US has Tomahawks and other things that can be used in the military sector," Zelenskyy emphasized.

The President of Ukraine was also asked what, in his opinion, is necessary to turn the tide of a full-scale war against Ukraine.

"There are things that are very painful for an aggressor like Russia. When such strong countries as the United States, European countries, Canada, and Japan use tools such as sanctions and tariffs, primarily on energy resources, then on the fleet, the banking system, and on other needs, critical minerals, this really affects internal affairs," he replied.

Zelensky believes that if the US imposes all sanctions against Russia and deprives Moscow of the ability to circumvent restrictions, this could turn the tide of the war against Ukraine. He also urged Trump not to synchronize US restrictions on Moscow with European sanctions.

What is the main problem with the transfer of Tomahawk to Ukraine?

Earlier, Yehor Chernev, a People's Deputy from the"Servant of the People" party, Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence, stated in a comment to UNIAN that the United States perceives transfer of Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine as a certain step towards escalation in relations with Russia. He noted that Washington could limit the use of these missiles even if it transfers them to Ukraine.

Chernev explained that the US can allow Ukraine to strike only"at those targets for which they will allow them to be used, and not at those that we consider to be priorities deep inside the Russian Federation." Later, the parliamentarian added, the range of these missiles may be expanded.
