Russian oil supplies to Hungary and Slovakia via Druzhba oil pipeline were stopped on August 18, reports Reuters with reference to officials from Hungary and Slovakia.

In particular, the Slovak pipeline operator Transpetrol confirmed the supply stoppage.

"Our company does not have more detailed information about the reason for the suspension, which is outside the territory of the Slovak Republic," the message states.

Earlier, Hungarian Foreign Minister Pétr Szijjártó announced the suspension of Russian oil supplies. He wrote in that he had spoken with Russian Deputy Energy Minister Pavel Sorokin, who said that specialists were working to restore the transformer station. This station, he said, was damaged during the latest attack, but it is unclear when supplies will resume.

"This latest blow to our energy security is outrageous and unacceptable," Szijjártó wrote.

He did not say when and where the attack occurred, but the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated that on the night of August 18, the Nikolskoye oil pumping station in the Tambov region of the Russian Federation, which is used to transport oil through the Druzhba oil pipeline, was hit.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sybiga did not confirmed and did not deny the information about the latest attack, but wrote on the X network that Hungary"can now send complaints" to Moscow, not Kyiv.

Ukraine's attacks on Russia

This is not the first time that Russian oil supplies have been stopped through the Druzhba pipeline. As UNIAN reported, on the night of August 12-13, the Defense Forces attacked the Unecha oil pumping station in the Bryansk region. New satellite images show that two pumping stations were destroyed as a result of the attack.

Recently, drones of the Main Intelligence Directorate struck the"Orenburg Helium Plant" in the city of Orenburg. It is the monopoly manufacturer in the Russian Federation of a critically important component for the production of missiles, in the space industry and the aviation industry.
