The meeting between President Erdogan and Russian President Vladimir Putin continues.

In his first statements, Erdoğan said,"We are expecting Putin to visit our country soon. We have a sincere relationship based on trust."

"Our energy partnership is strategic," Putin told Erdoğan during the meeting."Russia supplies gas to Türkiye via the Black Sea without interruption. We see Turkey as a reliable, time-tested partner."

The Russian leader also thanked Erdoğan for his diplomatic and political contributions to resolving the Ukrainian crisis, saying,"We are grateful to our Turkish friends for their significant contributions to the political and diplomatic efforts to resolve the Ukrainian crisis. Since May of this year, three rounds of direct Russian-Ukrainian talks have been held on the Istanbul platform, and these talks have made it possible to make progress in resolving a number of practical humanitarian issues."

The Directorate of Communications released a statement saying,"Our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, held a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in the People's Republic of China, where he was attending the 25th Summit of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

The meeting addressed bilateral relations between Turkey and Russia, as well as regional and global issues. President Erdoğan stated that relations between Turkey and Russia continue to progress based on mutual respect and mutual benefit, and that the long-standing spirit of cooperation in areas such as trade, tourism, investments, and energy continues.

Our President stated that Turkey's efforts continue to resolve the war in Ukraine with a just and lasting peace, and that he believes the Istanbul talks have contributed to the peace process. He expressed his hope that the negotiations between Azerbaijan and Armenia will lead to lasting peace and that lasting stability in the Caucasus will be in the mutual interest of Turkey and Russia. Views were also exchanged during the meeting regarding Israel's attacks on Gaza and the development of Syria while preserving its territorial integrity and political unity.
