The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced that 13 people were killed and four others wounded in an Israeli airstrike that targeted the Ain al-Hilweh refugee camp in Sidon, southern Lebanon, on Tuesday evening. This attack came hours after another person was killed by drone fire targeting a car in the southern town of Blida.
The National News Agency reported that the attack occurred near the Khalid bin Walid Mosque in the lower part of the camp, causing fires in the area. Israeli drones were also observed flying at low altitude from Zahrani towards the targeted location in Sidon.
The Israeli military accused the victims of the raid of being militants belonging to a Hamas training compound in southern Lebanon, claiming that"Hamas militants use the compound to plan and carry out terrorist plots against our forces and our country."
Other Israeli raids were recorded today in areas of southern Lebanon, as a person was killed by drone fire targeting a car in the town of Blida, while this was the second targeting of the town after a drone bombed an excavator at dawn, which led to a fire breaking out in it.
A Lebanese citizen was also killed this morning in a similar raid on a car in the city of Bint Jbeil. The National News Agency explained that the deceased was Ali Shaito, an employee of the Union of Municipalities of Bint Jbeil.
