The head of state emphasized several key points, including the crucial role of US President Donald Trump in shaping a just and lasting peace agreement for Ukraine.
"President Trump's involvement in a peace agreement for Ukraine is essential — any peace must be just and lasting. Europe's role is also crucial. Transatlantic coordination remains our strongest asset in deterring Russian aggression," Nicușor Dan emphasized.
He insisted that Russia must stop attacks on civilians and advocated maintaining and, if necessary, intensifying sanctions until a peace agreement is reached.
Another aspect highlighted by the president was the need for the immediate return of all abducted Ukrainian children, with Romania committing to actively supporting this initiative.
At the same time, Nicușor Dan conveyed that Romania will contribute to security guarantees for Ukraine.
"Romania will contribute to solid security guarantees for Ukraine, which will be implemented through close cooperation between Europe and the US — this is an investment in the security of Europe, not just Ukraine," he said.
The President also emphasized that a stable and secure Ukraine represents a consolidation of Romania's security and a direct advantage for the Republic of Moldova.
